Arrest Made in Connection to Security Bank Robbery

An arrest has made an arrest in connection to a bank robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon at Security Bank. Bobby Gene Gracy Jr., date of birth 02/24/1953, has been charged with Robbery “2nd Degree Felony”.
On July 30, 2019 at approximately 1531 hours, the Odessa Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation responded to 4040 East 42nd Street (Security Bank) in reference to a bank robbery. The suspect entered the bank and handed a note to the teller demanding cash and stating that he had a firearm. The suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Through the course of the investigation the suspect was identified as Bobby Gracy Jr. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, OPD detectives obtained a robbery warrant for Gracy.
Further investigation led OPD to Big Spring, Texas and with the assistance of Big Spring P.D., Howard County S.O., D.P.S. and the F.B.I., Gracy was located and placed into custody this afternoon. The investigation continues.
