Step Two - Determine Your Total Occupancy Limit
Determine your total occupancy limit using the formula below that best applies to your business type.
Note: For the purposes of the Odessa Safe Guidelines, you may use the following occupancy recommendations. These are for COVID19 Response purposes only, do not override existing Building or Fire Codes, and are only in effect during the period of the declared COVID-19 Disaster.
In-Store Retail Services
- Gross Square Footage of Sales Floor ÷ 60 = Total Occupancy
- Total Occupancy × 0.5 = Current Allowable Occupancy of 50%
Enclosed Shopping Malls
- Gross Square Footage of Sales Floor ÷ 60 = Total Occupancy
- Total Occupancy × 0.5 = Current Allowable Occupancy of 50%
Restaurants
- Total Number of Seating in Dining Area x 0.5 = Current Allowable Occupancy of 50%
Non-Essential Medical
- Gross Square Footage ÷ 100 = Total Occupancy
- Total Occupancy × 0.5 = Current Allowable Occupancy

Movie Theaters
- Total Number of Seats per Theater × 0.5 = Current Allowable Occupancy of 50%
Museums & Libraries
- Gross Square Footage ÷ 30 = Total Occupancy
- Total Occupancy × 0.5 = Current Allowable Occupancy of 50%
Bars
Bars must close by Noon on Friday June 26, 2020 until further notice.
